February 12, 2018. Director of GC RAS Academician A. Gvishiani was elected a member of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) renovation task force.

The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis is an independent international organization that conducts research on problems in the economic, environmental and social spheres. The Institute was founded in 1972 and since then has earned the respect of the international community with outstanding scientific results. Among IIASA scientists there are several Nobel laureates.

March 27, 2024. On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).

March 27, 2024. On March 26, 2024, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS, Director of the Geophysical Center of RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 2nd grade.

March 13, 2024. On March 13, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, PhD Alexey Morozov presented his report "Seismicity of the Western Sector of the Russian Arctic and Adjacent Territories during the Instrumental Observation Period".
