December 12, 2018. A scientific seminar was held at the Belousov Hall of GC RAS, where Chief Researcher of the Institute for Space Research (IKI RAS) Dr. Sc. S.A. Pulinets gave a presentation on the “Physical precursors of earthquakes and the possibilities of using them for short-term forecasting”.

During the seminar, he told about migration of gases under various conditions in the crust - the main harbingers of earthquakes. S. A. Pulinets also presented a model of multiparameter network analysis, which allows making a short-term earthquake prediction based on a combination of various types of parameters (parameters of space plasma, thermal anomalies from satellites, seismotectonics, remote sensing etc.).

March 27, 2024. On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).

March 27, 2024. On March 26, 2024, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS, Director of the Geophysical Center of RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 2nd grade.

March 21, 2024. On March 21, 2024, a regular meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Geophysical Center of RAS.

March 13, 2024. On March 13, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, PhD Alexey Morozov presented his report "Seismicity of the Western Sector of the Russian Arctic and Adjacent Territories during the Instrumental Observation Period".
