February 17, 2016 On February 7, 2016 Executive Director of the International Council for Science (ICSU) Dr Heide Hackmann (South Africa), President of CODATA prof. Jeffrey Boulton (UK), Executive Director of CODATA Simon Hudson (UK) and Director of GC RAS, Chairman of the Russian Committee of CODATA Academician A. Gvishiani held talks in Paris.

The central themes of the talks were the RNF project of GC RAS and CODATA to recognize high-risk seismic zones; international school for young seismologists "System Analysis and Seismic Hazard Assessment" from 12 to 15 July, 2016 in Moscow; International Conference "Data Intensive System Analysis for Geohazard Studies” from 18 to 21 July 2016 in Sochi. The sides elaborated concrete steps for the joint organization of these events. CODATA will send researchers of international class to take part in them.

On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).

March 27, 2024. On March 26, 2024, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS, Director of the Geophysical Center of RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 2nd grade.

March 21, 2024. On March 21, 2024, a regular meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Geophysical Center of RAS.

March 13, 2024. On March 13, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, PhD Alexey Morozov presented his report "Seismicity of the Western Sector of the Russian Arctic and Adjacent Territories during the Instrumental Observation Period".
