SEC “Geodynamics and geoecology of the mineral resources: modelling, prediction and monitoring”

The Geophysical centre RAS (GC RAS) and the Moscow State Mining University (MSMU) founded joint Scientific-educational centre (SEC) “Geodynamics and geoecology of the mineral resources: modelling, prediction and monitoring”. SEC was established under the Agreement on Cooperation between GC RAS and department “Engineering Environmental protection“ of Physics and Technical Faculty of the Moscow State Mining University (hereinafter MSMU).

SEC provides the performance of the joint researches in the following main directions:

  • Working out the new methods of geodynamics classification of territories in the areas where there are radiation-dangerous objects of nuclear fuel cycle;
  • Investigation and modelling of stress strain behaviour (SSB) in choosing the places of radiation-dangerous objects allocation including underground objects;
  • Development of the scientific-training base of the information technologies application for the prediction of the geological environment sustainability based on the SSB models of heterogenous block massive;
  • Investigation of the up-to-date crustal movements based on the application of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GPS/GNSS);

Under the provisions of SEC it is headed by Academician A. D. Gvishiani and its scientific head is doctor of the technical sciences, professor V. N. Morozov.
