February 19, 2024. On February 15, 2024, the Geophysical Center of RAS hosted an excursion dedicated to the 300th anniversary of RAS as part of the Decade of Science and Technology.

Leading Engineer Viktor Dyakov and Junior Research Scientist Roman Shevchuk demonstrated the capabilities of UAVs in conducting geophysical research.

Junior research scientists Dastan Akmatov, Roman Shevchuk, and Ilya Losev talked about the study of modern geodynamic processes using geodetic instruments. They also talked about the use of this information in the construction of three-dimensional models in geomechanics.

Junior Research Scientist Grigory Boyarshinov and Roman Krasnoperov, with the participation of Senior Research Scientist PhD Izabella Nikitina and Viktor Dyakov, told the listeners about the visualization of geophysical data using the ORBUS-PRO Interactive Spherical Visualization Platform, a hardware and software ecosystem based on digital multimedia globes.

The scientists demonstrated visualizations of the planets of the solar system, the Earth's magnetic field, geodynamic processes, auroras, current air traffic, and other global phenomena.
