June 24, 2026. On June 22–23, 2026, the Geophysical Center RAS was visited by D.Sc., Prof. Vakhitkhan Ismailov, Director of the G. A. Mavlyanov Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan; PhD John Karapetyan, Director of the A. Nazarov Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia; and PhD Valijon Yusupov, Head of the Laboratory of Fundamental Problems of Earthquake Prediction at the G. A. Mavlyanov Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the GC RAS, the distinguished guests were welcomed by Chief Scientist, Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani; Director, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev; Deputy Director for Science, D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev, and other scientists.

Scientific Secretary, PhD Roman Krasnoperov introduced the guests to the GC RAS museum; Head of the Laboratory of Geophysical Monitoring, PhD Dmitry Kudin spoke about the operation of geomagnetic stations, whose data our institute receives in real time; and Resear Scientist Grigory Boyarshinov presented the ORBUS-PRO platform – a GC RAS development that makes it possible to demonstrate planetary phenomena and global geodynamic processes of both natural and anthropogenic origin. Junior Research Scientist Ivan Lisenkov spoke about the application of artificial intelligence methods to solve geophysical problems; Research Scientist Alexander Manevich spoke about geodynamic research at nuclear energy facilities; Senior Research Scientist, PhD Dastan Akmatov spoke about geomechanical modeling of large-scale geodynamic processes using the Caucasus as an example; and Junior Research Scientist Daniel Veis spoke about the creation of a web-oriented GIS platform for data analysis.

The introduction to the Geophysical Center RAS was followed by a discussion of promising areas for joint research within the framework of international projects in various fields of geophysics.
