September 29, 2026. A report by scientists from the Geophysical Center RAS was presented at the 10th International Conference "Natural and Technogenic Risks: Models, Systems, Technologies", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Geophysical Institute – a branch of the Vladikavkaz Scientific Center RAS.

Deputy Director for Science, D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev, on behalf of GC RAS, congratulated the Geophysical Institute on its anniversary and wished it further success in science. He also delivered a report titled "Comprehensive Geophysical Studies of the Ossetian Sector of the Greater Caucasus for Seismic Hazard Assessment" (co-authors: Chief Scientist, Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani, Deputy Director for Science, Corresponding Member of RAS Viktor Tatarinov, et al.).

The conference was held on September 22–24 in Vladikavkaz. Participants discussed issues of monitoring and analyzing the consequences of earthquakes, natural and technogenic phenomena, ensuring sustainable development of territories, and improving the safety of the population's livelihood.

September 29, 2026. An international scientific team has presented new data on the secondary alterations and composition of felsic tuffs from Upper Sarmatian and Maeotian-Pontian continental sedimentary rocks of the Udabno Upper Miocene section (Kakheti, Eastern Georgia, Eastern Paratethys). The lead author of the study was D.Sc. Yuliana Rostovtseva, Chief Researcher at the Geophysical Center RAS.

September 23, 2026. On September 23, 2026, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, a report was presented by Ekaterina Smotrova, an engineer at the Laboratory of Wave Processes in Space Plasma at the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of RAS, titled "Study of the Interaction of Ultra-Low-Frequency Waves with Charged Particles of the Magnetosphere" (based on materials from her PhD thesis).

September 21, 2026. On September 18, the thesis defense of Anastasia Odintsova, a researcher at the Laboratory of Geoinformatics and Big Data of the Arctic at the GC RAS, was successfully held.
