September 11, 2017. Director of GC RAS Academician Alexey Gvishiani was elected a member of the European Academy ("Academia Europaea") in the section EARTH & COSMIC SCIENCES.

The European Academy is a public non-governmental organization called to unite the leading scientists of all European countries. It was established in 1988 and includes sections on all major disciplines of the natural and human sciences. The main goal of the European Academy is to promote and disseminate best practices in various scientific fields of knowledge.

November 13, 2024. On November 13, 2024, during a joint Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS and the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, PhD Zhanna Vasilyeva made a report "On the Use of Satellite Data in Developing Tools for Regulating Access to Arctic Waters".

November 11, 2024. On November 11, 2024, Scientific Secretary of GC RAS PhD Roman Krasnoperov delivered a lecture at Lomonosov Moscow State University on "Fundamentals of Satellite Remote Sensing and Mapping of the Earth, Moon, and Planets of the Solar System".

November 11, 2024. On November 6–7, 2024, young scientists of the GC RAS took part in the Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Graduate Students of the IPE RAS 2024.

November 8, 2024. The Presidium of RAS approved the new composition of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. It included scientists of the Geophysical Center RAS.
