October 30, 2018. In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia No. 20-3/401p-О of October 30, 2018, Deputy Director for Science of GC RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev assumed the position of the Acting Director of GC RAS.

Anatoly Alexandrovich replaced Academician Alexey Dzhermenovich Gvishiani, who for more than 13 years brilliantly led the Geophysical Center, strengthening the status of the Institute as one of the most important institutions not only in Russia, but also in the international scientific community.
