July 14, 2020. The "Options" magazine published an interview "Building the foundation for a world of open data and open science" with CODATA Vice-President and deputy director for development of GC RAS, head of the laboratory of innovative projects A. I. Rybkina.

During the interview, topical issues of open data and open science policy were discussed – their importance, development prospects, as well as joint initiatives of CODATA and the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis.

November 13, 2024. On November 13, 2024, during a joint Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS and the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, PhD Zhanna Vasilyeva made a report "On the Use of Satellite Data in Developing Tools for Regulating Access to Arctic Waters".

November 11, 2024. On November 6–7, 2024, young scientists of the GC RAS took part in the Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Graduate Students of the IPE RAS 2024.

November 8, 2024. The Presidium of RAS approved the new composition of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. It included scientists of the Geophysical Center RAS.
