June 13, 2024. The All-Russian School of Young Scientists "System Analysis of the Dynamics of Natural Processes in the Russian Arctic" was held on June 4–7, 2024 in the city of Vidnoye (Moscow Oblast).

The event was attended by 40 students, postgraduates, and young scientists. The geography of the participants was extensive: from Murmansk to Irkutsk, from Saint Petersburg to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Chairman of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani devoted his welcome speech to the history of the study of the Arctic region. Alexey Germenovich noted the importance of interaction between science and the real sector of the economy in the study and development of the Arctic.

Chairman of the Program Committee, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev stressed that the purpose of the school is to tell students about the most significant scientific results of studying the Arctic.

Young scientists attended lectures on research in the fields of geophysics, climatology, oceanology, remote sensing, geoinformatics and system analysis, practical resource development, environmental management, and transport. The lecturers were prominent scientists and specialists representing the Russian Academy of Sciences and leading research institutions and universities: the Geophysical Center of RAS, the Sadovsky Institute of Geospheres Dynamics of RAS, the Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of RAS, the Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum-Gas Geology and Geophysics of the Siberian Branch of RAS, the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of RAS, Fedorov Institute of Applied Geophysics (Roshydromet), the A. M. Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics of RAS, the Sсhmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS, the Russian University of Transport (MIIT), the Ufa University of Science and Technology, and others.

The program included a workshop on working with data and software development, as well as a business game, during which participants made videos about the study and development of the Arctic. During an excursion to the Fersman Mineralogical Museum of RAS, Director, Professor Pavel Plechov presented the exhibits.

The series of schools of young scientists "System Analysis of the Dynamics of Natural Processes in the Russian Arctic" has been held since 2021, supported by the Russian Science Foundation. The organizer is the Geophysical Center of RAS.
