June 15, 2018. The Russian Government has established the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

According to the Presidential Decree of May 15, 2018, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia was transformed into the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In addition, FASO was abolished.

One of the important functions of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education is fundamental scientific research by scientific organizations formerly under the jurisdiction of FASO. Heads of such scientific organizations will be appointed in the order established by the Government of Russia.

March 27, 2024. On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).

March 27, 2024. On March 26, 2024, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS, Director of the Geophysical Center of RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 2nd grade.

March 21, 2024. On March 21, 2024, a regular meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Geophysical Center of RAS.

March 13, 2024. On March 13, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, PhD Alexey Morozov presented his report "Seismicity of the Western Sector of the Russian Arctic and Adjacent Territories during the Instrumental Observation Period".
