June 9, 2020. Students of the Geological Faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University defended their theses. Among the bachelors of the Department of Geophysical Methods of Research of the Earth's crust, was engineer of the laboratory of innovative projects of GC RAS A. A. Oshchenko.

His thesis "Geomagnetic research in the selection of sites for observatories" was based on the study of theoretical and practical issues of the location of geomagnetic observatories of INTERMAGNET, as well as the localization of sites of the absolute and variation pavilions of the observatory based on the results of detailed high-precision magnetic surveys.

The team of GC RAS congratulates Alexey Anatolyevich on the successful defense of his diploma and wishes him further fruitful scientific work!

On March 27, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Research Scientist of the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of RAS Yevgeny Fattakhov presented his report "Development of Methods for Long-term Series Analysis of Geodeformation Observations in Seismically Active and Oil and Gas Bearing Regions" (based on his PhD thesis).

March 27, 2024. On March 26, 2024, at a meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS, Director of the Geophysical Center of RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev was awarded the Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 2nd grade.

March 13, 2024. On March 13, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, PhD Alexey Morozov presented his report "Seismicity of the Western Sector of the Russian Arctic and Adjacent Territories during the Instrumental Observation Period".
