November 8, 2023. On November 8, 2023, the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS was held online. The program included the report «Development of Methods for GNSS Observations and Analysis of Deformations of the Earth's Surface at the Area of a Highly Active Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility» by Junior Research Fellow of the Geodynamics Laboratory of the GC RAS R. V. Shevchuk.

The surveying and geodetic monitoring of modern deformations and movements of the Earth's surface is an obligatory part of ensuring engineering and geoecological safety at all stages of the life cycle of underground hazardous facilities. Modern experience emphasizes the importance of using GNSS to identify low-amplitude displacements of the Earth's surface.
