December 11, 2023. On December 11, 2023, there was held the General Meeting of the ONZ RAS, chaired by Academician-Secretary of the Department of Earth Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ONZ RAS), Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences N. S. Bortnikov. At the meeting Chief Scientist of the Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexei D. Gvishiani was awarded the Medal of Peter Gubonin of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation "For active cooperation with the Ministry of Transport of Russia" as Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences "Environment and Transport."

The medal was established by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation in 2005. It is awarded for fruitful cooperation and interaction in the field of transport and construction of transport infrastructure, for initiative and charity related to the introduction of innovative forms, implementation of international transport programs and projects, as well as for attracting investment in the transport industry.
