January 17, 2024. On January 17, 2024, at the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS, Head of the Seismological Methods of the Lithosphere Analysis Laboratory, PhD Andrey Goev presented his report «Structure of the Lithosphere in the Northeastern Part of the Baltic Shield According to Seismological Data: Tectonics and Ore Occurrences».

The integrated development of the Arctic territories requires the expansion of our knowledge about their geological structure and tectonics. Murmansk Oblast is one of the key regions of the Russian North, with a developed civil and industrial infrastructure as well as the largest mining complex in Europe. The report presents one-dimensional kinematic models of the lithosphere of various parts of the region based on seismic data.

April 25, 2024. On April 23, 2024, Chief Scientist of the GC RAS, Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani and Director of the GC RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev took part in an event in honor of the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the construction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline.

April 24, 2024. On April 23, 2024, the Presidium of RAS unanimously supported the decision of the expert commission of RAS to award the Golitsyn Prize to Chief Scientist of the GC RAS, Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani and Director of the GC RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev.
