February 8, 2024. On February 7, 2024, an expanded meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS was held. It was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of RAS.

The event opened with a speech by Academician Secretary of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS Academician of RAS Nikolay Bortnikov. Vice-President of RAS Academician of RAS Sergey Aldoshin presented letters of thanks from the President of Russia and jubilee medals «300th Anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences» to the members of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS.

The medal was awarded to the Director of the GC RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev.

Scientific Director of the GC RAS Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani was awarded the medal «300th Anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences» on February 1 at the scientific conference «Dangerous Natural Phenomena and Disasters: Causes, Consequences, Prevention Possibilities» («Lavyorov Readings – 2024»).

At the meeting of the Bureau of the Department of Earth Sciences of RAS on February 7, the medal was also awarded to Head of the Laboratory of Geodynamics of the GC RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Viktor Tatarinov.
