April 5, 2024. On April 2, 2024, the Institute of Europe of RAS held the V. P. Fyodorov Arctic Seminar on the topic of "Experience of Historical and Geographical Expeditions to the Svalbard Archipelago".

The seminar was opened by Director of the Institute of Europe of RAS, Corresponding Member of RAS Alexey Gromyko. The central event was a meeting with Honorary Polar Explorer of Russia, Hero of the Russian Federation Mikhail Malakhov. There was also shown the documentary “The Polar Meridian”.

A scientific discussion took place within the framework of the seminar, in which D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev, the Scientific Director of the GC RAS, Deputy Scientific Secretary of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Study of the Arctic and Antarctic, took part.
