April 24, 2024. On April 24, 2024, the Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS was held online.

Alexander Frolov, Assistant to the President of the National Research Centre "Kurchatov Institute", Vice-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (2019–2023) presented his report "On Priority Directions for the Development of Tsunami Warning Systems".

The author offered an overview of the global tsunami warning and mitigation system, including its structure, forecasting methods, existing problems, and new approaches to overcoming these problems.

The report also discussed the development of the program for the modernization and development of the Russian tsunami warning system.

November 13, 2024. On November 13, 2024, during a joint Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS and the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, PhD Zhanna Vasilyeva made a report "On the Use of Satellite Data in Developing Tools for Regulating Access to Arctic Waters".

November 11, 2024. On November 11, 2024, Scientific Secretary of GC RAS PhD Roman Krasnoperov delivered a lecture at Lomonosov Moscow State University on "Fundamentals of Satellite Remote Sensing and Mapping of the Earth, Moon, and Planets of the Solar System".

November 11, 2024. On November 6–7, 2024, young scientists of the GC RAS took part in the Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Graduate Students of the IPE RAS 2024.

November 8, 2024. The Presidium of RAS approved the new composition of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. It included scientists of the Geophysical Center RAS.
