Seminar on the practical basics of using GNSS and UAVs

May 13, 2024.On May 6, 2024, within the framework of the Scientific-Educational Center "Geodynamics and Geoecology of Mineral Resources: Modelling, Prediction, and Monitoring", scientists of the Geophysical Center of RAS held a seminar on the practical basics of using GNSS and UAVs for students of the National University of Science and Technology MISIS.

The seminar included practical and field classes:

Roman Shevchuk. The Use of UAVs Geoscan 101 and Geoscan 401 for Aerial and Aeromagnetic Photography
PhD Alexander Manevich. Modern Kits for GNSS Measurements

Future mining engineers – geologists actively participated in the discussion at the seminar. There were discussed technical characteristics of the UAV and performing aeromagnetic surveys, the accuracy of GNSS measurements, and types of modern geodetic equipment.

November 13, 2024. On November 13, 2024, during a joint Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS and the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, PhD Zhanna Vasilyeva made a report "On the Use of Satellite Data in Developing Tools for Regulating Access to Arctic Waters".

November 11, 2024. On November 11, 2024, Scientific Secretary of GC RAS PhD Roman Krasnoperov delivered a lecture at Lomonosov Moscow State University on "Fundamentals of Satellite Remote Sensing and Mapping of the Earth, Moon, and Planets of the Solar System".

November 11, 2024. On November 6–7, 2024, young scientists of the GC RAS took part in the Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Graduate Students of the IPE RAS 2024.

November 8, 2024. The Presidium of RAS approved the new composition of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. It included scientists of the Geophysical Center RAS.
