May 21, 2024. On May 21, 2024, the 85th meeting of the Scientific Council of the Geophysical Center of RAS was held.

The GC RAS was among the organizations that had obtained the opportunity to create a youth laboratory within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities" of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The members of the Scientific Council approved the creation of a new division in the structure of the GC RAS, the laboratory of geoinformatics and Big Data in the Arctic. The youth laboratory will be headed by D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev, Deputy Director for Science.

The Scientific Council voted for changes in the structure of the institute. The youth laboratory will include three departments.

There were also considered the nominating employees of the GC RAS for the Moscow Government Prize for Young Scientists in 2024. The candidacy of Boris Dzeboev was approved for a cycle of works on the development of methods and approaches to the assessment of seismic hazards and seismic zoning.
