June 13, 2024. On June 3–6, 2024, the international conference "The Caspian Basin in Transition" was held in Baku (Azerbaijan). The event was organized by the French‑Azerbaijani University and the Caspian Integrated Scientific Network. The participants discussed new approaches and data in Earth sciences in relation to energy transfer. Special attention was paid to the Caspian basin.

The scientists of the Geophysical Center of RAS D.Sc. Sergey Lebedev and D.Sc. Andrey Kostianoy presented the report "Comparative Characteristics of Water Exchange between Different Parts of the Caspian Sea, Calculated from Satellite Altimetry and Numerical Modeling". They were also invited to the international meeting "The 1st Caspian Blue Horizons Seminar: Combining Science and Business to Increase Climate Change Resilience and the Resilience of the Caspian Sea on the Eve of COP29" on June 10–11, 2024 at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
