November 1, 2024. On November 1, 2024 Chief Scientist of the GC RAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani took part in the opening of the X International Arctic Legal Forum "Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Arctic: Legal Aspects".

Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani welcomed organizers and participants on behalf of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. He noted that the Russian Arctic is changing rapidly today. The extractive industry, transport infrastructure, international cooperation, social policy as well as many other environmental and climate change issues require the close attention of the legal community.

Scientists play a significant role in the development of the Arctic. Research efficiency can be achieved only in close connection with the development of legal aspects of domestic and international policy of our country.

November 13, 2024. On November 13, 2024, during a joint Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS and the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, PhD Zhanna Vasilyeva made a report "On the Use of Satellite Data in Developing Tools for Regulating Access to Arctic Waters".

November 11, 2024. On November 11, 2024, Scientific Secretary of GC RAS PhD Roman Krasnoperov delivered a lecture at Lomonosov Moscow State University on "Fundamentals of Satellite Remote Sensing and Mapping of the Earth, Moon, and Planets of the Solar System".

November 11, 2024. On November 6–7, 2024, young scientists of the GC RAS took part in the Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Graduate Students of the IPE RAS 2024.

November 8, 2024. The Presidium of RAS approved the new composition of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. It included scientists of the Geophysical Center RAS.
