October 21, 2024. On September 24, 2024, there was completed an expedition of scientists of the Geophysical Center of RAS to Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra for a complex of geophysical and geodetic works. The expedition was aimed to study the regional anomalous magnetic field using high-precision geodetic and geophysical equipment of the GC RAS according to a specially developed methodology.
The expedition took place in two stages: at the first stage (September 1–11, 2024), aeromagnetic measurements were performed and at the second stage (September 11–24, 2024) – complex ground measurements of the Earth's magnetic field.
Engineer Danila Mokrov, Junior Research Scientist Fyodor Perederin, and Research Scientist PhD Kirill Kholodkov took part in the first stage of the work. At the second stage, Leading Engineer Andrey Grudnev, Senior Specialist Vyacheslav Kabrov, Engineer Artyom Kamaev, Junior Research Scientist Vladimir Sergeev took part in the work. The head of the expedition is Vladimir Sergeev, the methodology supervisor is PhD Dmitry Kudin, the scientific supervisor is Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev.
As a result, some valuable data was obtained, which is necessary for further analytical work. All the tasks assigned to the expedition groups were fully completed.
