October 10, 2024. On October 8, 2024, as part of the business program of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2024, there was held the session "Geological and Geophysical Research for the Oil, Gas, and Mining Industries". The GC RAS was one of the organizers.
The session was devoted to topical issues of geological and geophysical research in the field of oil, gas, and mining industries.
The moderator was Director of the GC RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev. One of the speakers was Chief of the Geophysical Monitoring Sector of the GC RAS PhD Dmitry Kudin. He presented the report "Geomagnetic Navigation in Directional Drilling: Challenges for Stationary and Field Observations of the Earth's Magnetic Field".
The St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2024 was held on October 8–11 at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center. The agenda of this annual event covers all aspects of the gas industry, as well as issues of environmental safety and sustainable development. Partnership agreements are being concluded on the sidelines of the forum, which serve to launch new large-scale projects. Among the participants are representatives of federal and regional authorities; heads, chief engineers, and technologists of oil and gas companies et al.
