May 7, 2025. Scientists of the N. P. Laverov Federal Center for Integrated Arctic Research UB RAS (FITSKIA UB RAS) conducted research in the Arkhangelsk Oblast, where the Klimovskaya Observatory of the GC RAS and FITSKIA UB RAS is deployed.
Using data from the observatory, the researchers determined which parameter of the heart is affected by changes in the Earth's magnetic field. This is a baroreceptor reflex that is responsible for regulating blood pressure and pulse rate. People with high blood pressure may suffer from fluctuations in the magnetic field, as they cause tension of cardiac activity.
