February 4, 2025. On February 4, 2025, at a meeting of the Presidium of RAS in Moscow, a solemn presentation of diplomas on awarding RAS prizes took place. The laureates were researchers who made a major contribution to the development of science. The diplomas were presented by the President of RAS, Academician of RAS Gennady Krasnikov.
Diplomas on awarding the RAS prize named after B. B. Golitsyn for outstanding scientific work in geophysics were awarded to Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev (the Geophysical Center RAS) and Corresponding Member of RAS Igor Rosenberg (the Russian University of Transport) for a series of works on "System Geoinformation Analysis of Geophysical Data for Identifying Zones of Increased Seismic Hazard, Studying Lithospheric Structures, and Recognizing Geomagnetic Field Anomalies".
The RAS prize named after B. B. Golitsyn is the prestigious and only award of RAS in geophysics for outstanding scientific work. Previously, the prize was awarded by RAS every three years. Starting in 2027, it will be replaced by a gold medal. It will be awarded every five years for relevant achievements.
