August 26, 2025. Interactive spherical visualizations created by the Innovative Projects Sector of the Geophysical Center RAS can now be seen at the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad.

The launch of the Planet Ocean exposition took place on August 18. It has become Russia's largest exhibition and educational center that preserves and presents knowledge about the ocean.

A new challenge has transformed the result of many years of work on the ORBUS complex (exhibited in the Research and Education Center "Evolution of the Earth" of Novosibirsk State University, the Stukenberg Geological Museum of Kazan University, the Mining Museum at Saint Petersburg Mining University, and other institutions) in its expanded version: the ORBUS-PRO platform, which provides software tools for multi-format implementations of digital globes, as well as a unified data storage.

Currently, static and dynamic events, phenomena, and processes occurring in the world ocean and adjacent geosystems are demonstrated in the Great Ocean hall on a spherical LED screen with a diameter of 2.5 meters: from current directions, surface temperature, and sea level rise to the movement of lithospheric plates, earthquake epicenters, and factors affecting flora and fauna (climatic zones, ozone layer, carbon dioxide concentration, etc.).
