October 24, 2025. On October 22, 2025, scientists of the GC RAS delivered presentations at the IV All-Russian Scientific Conference "Modern Methods of Seismic Hazard Assessment and Earthquake Forecasting".

Principal research scientist D.Sc. Vladimir Kaftan made two presentations (co-authored). His talks covered the use of synoptic animations to predict the locations of strong earthquakes, as well as the assessment of the risk of a mega-earthquake in the area of the Nankai Trench (Japan) using GNSS observations. Leading research scientist D.Sc. Alexey Morozov described the seismicity of the eastern sector of the Russian Arctic during the instrumental period (co-authored).

The conference is organized by the Institute of Earthquake Prediction Theory and Mathematical Geophysics RAS. Held every two years since 2019, the event covers key areas of geophysics, seismology, and geodynamics.
