November 12, 2025. On November 11, 2025, the Geophysical Center RAS hosted a lecture using the ORBUS-PRO platform for interactive three-dimensional spherical visualization of geospatial data.
The lecture was delivered to second-year geology students from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Anastasia Odintsova, a research scientist at the GC RAS's Laboratory of Geoinformatics and the Arctic Big Data, gave the opening remarks. Grigory Boyarshinov, also a research scientist at the laboratory, then detailed the development of the ORBUS-PRO platform, covering its concept, architecture, and complex's hardware and software components.
The lecture continued with D.Sc. Vladimir Zakharov, a professor at Lomonosov Moscow State University, who used the digital globe to illustrate his materials. His presentation covered topics such as lithospheric plate tectonics, the mechanisms of earthquake formation, and the modeling and measurement of the magnetic fields of Earth and other planets.
