April 6, 2026. From March 31 to April 4, 2026, the IX Geological and Geophysical Conference and Exhibition "GeoEurasia-2026. Geological Exploration Technologies – Science and Business" was held at the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting.
As part of the conference, roundtable discussions were held, where participants focused on various aspects of developing Russian mineral resource base.
On April 3, a roundtable titled "Magnetometric Support for Directional Drilling Technology in the Extraction of Hard-to-Recover Hydrocarbon Reserves" was organized by the Geophysical Center RAS. The moderators were GC RAS scientists: Director, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev; Scientific Secretary, PhD Roman Krasnoperov; and PhD Dmitry Kudin, Head of the Laboratory of Geophysical Monitoring. The roundtable was attended by representatives of research institutes and the oil and gas industry.
Scientists from the GC RAS presented two reports.
Roman Krasnoperov (co-author of the report – Dmitry Kudin) spoke about technologies for the deployment and operation of geomagnetic observatories and stations.
The report "High-Resolution Geomagnetic Models: Applied Aspects" was presented by Dmitry Kudin (co-author – Anatoly Soloviev).
"The reports we heard at the roundtable sparked lively interest and discussion among representatives of the professional community, both from academic science and industry. I am sure that, like me, many participants learned something new and useful. I hope we will be able to continue such meetings," commented Roman Krasnoperov.
