April 27, 2026. D.Sc. Yuliana Rostovtseva, Principal Research Scientist at the Geoophysical Center RAS, gave an interview (in Russian) as part of the program "Myths and Legends of the Oil Industry. Lithologists, hold on!" on Radio Mediametrics.

"3/4 of the Earth's surface is covered by sedimentary rocks and sediments. Most mineral resources, including oil and gas, coal, and salts, are confined precisely to sedimentary formations. The area of accumulation of sedimentary formations is, in fact, the human habitat," reported Yuliana Rostovtseva.

The scientist spoke about the importance of lithology, the reasons for the shortage of lithologists, the specifics of their training, research work, and much more.

April 22, 2026. On April 22, 2026, at the Scientific Seminar of the Geophysical Center RAS, PhD Alexey Sentsov, Senior Researcher at the Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth of the RAS, presented a report titled "Seismotectonics of Areas of Active Tectonogenesis Based on a New Methodological Approach" (based on materials from his doctoral dissertation).

April 20, 2026. On April 12–18, a delegation from the Geophysical Center RAS paid an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. During meetings held at leading scientific and educational institutions in Tashkent and Samarkand, Russian scientists discussed with their foreign colleagues the prospects for implementing joint research projects in geophysics, big data analysis, mathematical modeling, and observatory research.

April 13, 2026. A delegation from the Geophysical Center RAS, led by Director Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev, arrived in the Republic of Uzbekistan for an official visit.
