October 19, 2026. On October 16–17, 2026, the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Design, Construction, and Operation of Transport Infrastructure Facilities in Complex Climatic and Engineering-Geological Conditions", dedicated to the 130th anniversary of RUT (MIIT), was held at the Russian University of Transport.
Among the organizers were the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences "Environment and Transport" and the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. The co-chairs of the program committee included Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani, Scientific Director of the GC RAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council of RAS "Environment and Transport", and Director of the GC RAS Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev, member of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, member of the Scientific Council of RAS "Environment and Transport".
On October 16, Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani delivered a welcoming address at the opening of the conference. The event was also attended by GC RAS scientists: Leading Research Scientist D.Sc. Andrey Kostianoy, Research Scientists Olga Samokhina and Olga Shevaldysheva, and Junior Research Scientist Daniel Veis.
During the plenary session and thematic sections, an international exchange of experience took place: scientists from Russia, Angola, China, Iran, and Uzbekistan spoke about the technical achievements of their countries in transport construction. The key topics of discussion were the reliability of transport structures, geotechnical monitoring, and soil thermal stabilization. Experts paid special attention to the adaptation of infrastructure to the extreme conditions of the Arctic, the North, and regions with permafrost soils.
