July 3, 2017. School of Young Scientists "Methods for the integrated assessment of seismic hazard" has opened at the Shmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth (IPE RAS). The School was organized by GC RAS within the framework of the Russian Science Foundation (RNF) project No. 15-17-30020 "Application of system analysis for seismic hazard assessment in Russian regions".
The subject of the School is related to the recently developed new methods for assessing seismic hazard and integrating the results obtained with their help on the basis of methods of system analysis. The organizational committee of the event included experts of GC RAS, IPE RAS, Institute of Earthquake Prediction Theory and Mathematical Geophysics (IEPT RAS) and KSA Innovation Group.
A. A. Solovyev, Director of IEPT RAS, A. D. Gvishiani, Director of GC RAS, S. A. Tikhotsky, Director of IPE RAS, V. V Pogorelov, Scientific Secretary of IEPT RAS, V. A. Timofeeva, Director of KSA Innovation Group welcomed the School participants at the opening ceremony.
Leading scientists from GC RAS, IPP RAS, IEPT RAS, Geophysical Service of RAS, ICSU CODATA (France), OGS (Italy), Institute of Mathematics of the University of Potsdam (Germany), Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology, NAS (Armenia), University of Trieste and other scientific institutions delivered lectures to young scientists from different cities of Russia, as well as from Armenia, Vietnam and South Africa.
