September 20-25, 2018. Anatoly Soloviev, Deputy Director for Science, GC RAS, and Boris Dzeboev, Head of the Laboratory of Geophysical Data, visited the Institute of Geophysics and Engineering Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (IGES NAS RA, Gyumri) on a working visit.

The main purpose of the visit was to hold a working meeting within the framework of the implementation of the Russian-Armenian RFBR grant “Study of the dynamics of the Earth’s main magnetic field and ionospheric current Sq system using new methods of intellectual data analysis of geomagnetic observatories”. During the meeting, the scientific results obtained in 2018, work plan for 2019, and joint publications in international scientific journals were discussed.

Another goal of the trip was to visit the construction department of ONIX company (Yerevan), which developed an innovative project of non-magnetic pavilions for the future joint geomagnetic observatory of GC RAS and IGES. During the visit, repeated measurements of the magnetic effects of the observatory building materials were made.
