January 25, 2024. On January 25, 2024, the All-Russian seminar «Problems of Remote Sensing of the Earth from Space» was held in in-person and online formats.

D.Sc. Sergey Lebedev (the GC RAS, MIET, Bauman Moscow State Technical University) held a report «Satellite Altimetry: Fundamentals of the Method and Applications in Earth Sciences».

The scientist talked about the achievements of satellite altimetry in Earth sciences. The field of application of satellite altimetry is constantly growing. In addition to the classic tasks of geodesy, satellite altimetry data have found wide application in many Earth sciences: geology, oceanology, glaciology, land hydrology, landscape studies, etc.

November 13, 2024. On November 13, 2024, during a joint Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS and the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic, PhD Zhanna Vasilyeva made a report "On the Use of Satellite Data in Developing Tools for Regulating Access to Arctic Waters".

November 11, 2024. On November 11, 2024, Scientific Secretary of GC RAS PhD Roman Krasnoperov delivered a lecture at Lomonosov Moscow State University on "Fundamentals of Satellite Remote Sensing and Mapping of the Earth, Moon, and Planets of the Solar System".

November 11, 2024. On November 6–7, 2024, young scientists of the GC RAS took part in the Scientific Conference of Young Scientists and Graduate Students of the IPE RAS 2024.

November 8, 2024. The Presidium of RAS approved the new composition of the Scientific Council of RAS for the Studies of the Arctic and Antarctic. It included scientists of the Geophysical Center RAS.
