May 30, 2024. On May 30, 2024, D.Sc. Alexei Alexeevich Lushnikov (1939), a chief researcher at the Laboratory of Geoinformatics and Geomagnetic Studies, celebrates his anniversary.

Alexei Lushnikov's research covers a wide range of scientific fields, including nuclear physics, statistical physics, quantum optics, physical kinetics, nucleation and coagulation, and evolutionary processes. Many discoveries in theoretical aerosol science are associated with the name of Alexei Lushnikov. The scientist formulated a new approach to the description of coagulation: the Marcus-Lushnikov process. He was one of the first to introduce the term "cosmozole" by analogy with aerosol. His research on the mathematical description and modeling of the processes of nucleation, growth, coagulation, and gelation of particles are recognized worldwide. Alexey Alexeevich's works received high scientific awards: the Nikolai Albertovich Fuchs Memorial Award (Taipei, 2002) and the Junge Memorial Award (Salzburg, 2007).

The staff of the Geophysical Center of RAS congratulates Alexey Alexeevich Lushnikov on his anniversary and wishes him good health, happiness, well-being, and further scientific success.
