October 8, 2025. On October 8, 2025, a Scientific Seminar of the GC RAS was held online. The presentation, titled "Detection of Destructive Processes during the Operation of Technical Structures and Determination of the Structure of the Earth's Crust Using Low-Amplitude Seismic Signals," was delivered by Alexey Vladimirovich Liseikin, PhD, Director of the Seismological Branch of the Geophysical Survey of RAS. The presentation was based on the materials of his doctoral thesis.

The report presented new scientifically proven effective solutions for remote detection of destructive processes that have begun during the operation of technical structures and for clarifying the structure of the Earth's crust using low-amplitude signals. The relevance of the topic stems from the need to ensure the safe functioning of industrial facilities remotely with incomplete data from traditional types of monitoring, as well as to obtain new data on the structure of the Earth's crust with a limited amount of high-cost work using deep seismic sounding.

The solutions obtained were used in the investigation of the causes of the largest man-made disaster at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Dam in 2009, in determining the dynamic effects from restored hydraulic units, and in clarifying the structure of the Earth's crust using data from river seismic exploration in Eastern Siberia.
