October 19, 2026. A Russian Academy of Sciences delegation led by Vice-President of the RAS Academician of RAS Vladislav Panchenko participated in the international conference "Systems Analysis for Natural Disaster Risk Assessment and Climate Change Adaptation", which was held on October 21–23, 2026, at the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
"I am convinced that holding the conference in Tashkent with the active participation of leading Russian and international scientific organizations will contribute to the further strengthening and expansion of international cooperation in the field of systems analysis, natural risks, climate change, and sustainable development," noted Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerkhov in his welcoming address.
A key role in preparing and holding the conference was played by the RAS Committee on Systems Analysis, whose deputy chairmen are Scientific Director Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani and Principal Research Scientist Academician of RAS Igor Sheremet. Research Scientist Yevgeny Luppov became co-chairman of the conference's Organizing Committee. Academician of RAS Alexey Gvishiani, Director Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev, and Deputy Director for Science D.Sc. Boris Dzeboev spoke as speakers.
During the conference, reports were presented by scientists from 11 countries on the application of systems analysis and mathematical modeling to the study of hazardous natural processes and climatic transformations, the assessment of the negative impact of geomagnetic disturbances on energy systems, and research on mudflow processes, droughts, and other hazardous natural phenomena.
