January 29, 2026. On January 27, 2026, a solemn meeting of the Scientific Council of the A. M. Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences was held, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the institute.

Representatives of the Geophysical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences – Director, Corresponding Member of RAS Anatoly Soloviev and Scientific Secretary, PhD Roman Krasnoperov – cordially congratulated the institute’s scientists and presented a gift.

In his congratulatory speech, Anatoly Soloviev noted that the progressive institute is distinguished not only by its great achievements of the past, but also by modern research at the forefront of science. The scientists of the A. M. Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics of RAS carry out such work under the wise guidance of their young director, Academician of RAS Vladimir Semenov, an outstanding, world-renowned scientist, and Chief Scientist, Academician of RAS Georgy Golitsyn, a classic of planetary geophysics. "The advanced institute is also distinguished by its extensive instrument base, research sites, and observatories for conducting its own observations – and you have all this as well," said Anatoly Soloviev. In conclusion, he wished the staff of the institute good health and many years of scientific creativity.
