July 3, 2020. Summing up the results for 2019, among all journals in the bibliographic database Scopus, the Russian Journal of Earth Sciences improved its performance and was included in the third quartile (Q3) for the first time in the "Earth and Planetary Sciences" domain. It should be emphasized that the indicators in the Scopus bibliographic database for the journal were calculated for the first time, although it began to be indexed in 2018, therefore, getting into the third quartile confirms that the journal is a fully authoritative international publication in the field of geoscience.
The Russian Journal of Earth Sciences has been published since 1998. The journal publishes articles in English on the most important achievements in all areas of geology, geophysics and geochemistry, including geoinformatics, ecology and physics of the atmosphere and ocean.
The main goal of the journal is to tell the scientific community about the most important scientific results obtained by Russian scientists. Articles submitted by foreign scientists or international teams of authors are also welcome, especially publications on general issues of Earth sciences.
"Russian Journal of Earth Sciences" is published by GC RAS. Chief Editor of the journal is Academician of RAS A. D. Gvishiani; the editorial board includes such well-known scientists as Academician of RAS A. O. Gliko, Corresponding Member of RAS A. A. Soloviev, P. Kabat (Switzerland) and other leading scientists in the field of Earth sciences from different countries.
